Jeff Vigil: #WeAreArgus

August 18, 2017

We love getting to know our Argus team members and why they love their jobs. Today we chatted with Jeff Vigil, Risk Manager for Argus. Jeff has been with Argus for about three months and loves meeting new people each day through his job.

Q: Hi Jeff, tell us a bit about yourself:

A: My name is Jeff Vigil, I was born and raised here in Denver, Colorado. I have three great kids, two boys and one girl, that keep me busy outside of work.

Q: What is your current position?

A: I am the Risk Manager for Argus. In my position, I implement safety programs and training to reduce injuries. I also help employees get back to work when they do have an injury and manager our company’s insurance policies. Overall my job is to help take care of our people, customers, and patrons who attend the events.

Q: How did you get started with Argus?

A: I started working for Argus about three months ago after working for Dynamic Well Services in North Dakota and Comcast here in Denver. I like working for Argus because I get to meet and interact with all kinds of interesting people. I’m a people person and really enjoy chatting with all our team members.

Q: Though you’ve only been with Argus a few months, you probably already have some fun stories to share about memorable fans or shows, are there any that you’d like to share?

A: Metallica was an awesome show to work. The crowd’s energy was on another level and the music was fantastic. I did not get to see most of the show as I was working the concourse, but just interacting with the fans, keeping them safe, and helping them enjoy their experience was enough. I saw all generations coming to see that show – from grandpa all the way down to grandson.

Q: Most people that work for Argus are either sports fans or music fans, which one are you?

A: I like both! And I really do enjoy all types of music. Most people don’t actually love all types of music, but I do. I listen to everything from country, to metal, to classical, to Latin music.

Q: What is your favorite Argus venue?

A: I have not had the pleasure of visiting all of our venues just yet, but from the ones I have, I would have to say I love them all. Each one has its own unique flavor and specialty. Red Rocks has an amazing sound and I absolutely loved hearing the symphony play there. Metallica brought the energy to Mile High stadium and rocked it out. The Ogden is smaller more intimate venue where you can really feel the vibe and be close to the music. The Paramount is one of the most unique buildings I have visited, and it takes you back to another place in time. Coors Field and Dicks Sporting Goods Park are fun places to be when the fans chant for their teams, you really feel a part of the energy. DPAC is a beautiful work of art as I have seen Wicked there as a fan, and worked a symphony there. There is just such a wonderful feeling to be in such a fantastic building. The atmosphere at Folsom field was electric, and it was such an amazing place to right next to the beautiful back drop of the iron mountains. I could never just pick one as my favorite, they all offer something special.

Q: What do you love most about working for Argus?

A: I love having the opportunity to make a difference for our employees, customers, and the fans. I want to ensure I take the best possible care of our employees. When I do my job well it makes the whole team do their job well, and that is what makes a difference when they interact with our customers and the fans.

Q: What are you most proud of in your work as an Argus Team Member?

A: Building relationships with people, and working toward a better tomorrow with all of them.

Well said, Jeff! Thanks for sharing your Argus experiences with us. Cheers!
